Fluffy idlis hiding a spiced veggie filling inside – perfect for lunchboxes or when you want something extra with your regular idli.

Ingredients:

  • Thaayar idli batter
  • 1 Potato (boiled and mashed)
  • 2 Tbsp peas (boiled)
  • 1 Small onion (chopped)
  • ½ Tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ Tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 Green chilli (chopped)
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • Coriander leaves

Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and cumin seeds.
  • Add green chilli, onion, turmeric, and sauté.
  • Add mashed potato, peas, and salt. Cook for 2 mins. Cool.
  • Grease idli moulds. Pour half ladle of batter, place 1 tsp filling, cover with batter.
  • Steam as usual for 10-12 minutes.
  • Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
