
Masala Fried Idli

Give your leftover idlis a makeover with this spicy, crispy snack. Perfect for tea-time or lunchbox treats, these masala-fried idlis are quick to prepare and deliciously satisfying.
Ingredients:
- 6 Idlis (preferably refrigerated or leftover)
- 1 Tbsp oil
- ½ Tsp mustard seeds
- 1 Sprig curry leaves
- ¼ Tsp turmeric
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- ½ Capsicum chopped (optional)
- ½ Tsp sambar powder or red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Cut the idlis into bite-sized cubes.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add curry leaves, turmeric, and chopped onion. Sauté until golden.
- Add chopped capsicum (if using) and sauté for a minute.
- Add idli cubes, sambar powder, and salt. Mix gently until coated.
- Stir-fry on medium flame until the idlis are crisp and golden.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with coconut chutney or just as is.
