Soft, crumbled idlis tossed in aromatic tempering make this quick, flavorful upma. A go-to recipe for busy mornings or as a light evening tiffin.

Ingredients:

  • 5 Idlis (crumbled)
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • ½ Tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ Tsp urad dal
  • 1 Green chilli chopped
  • 1 Inch ginger chopped
  • 1 Small onion chopped
  • A few curry leaves
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and urad dal.
  • Add curry leaves, green chilli, and ginger. Sauté briefly.
  • Add onions and cook till translucent.
  • Add turmeric and the crumbled idlis.
  • Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chutney or plain.
